About
Christ Is Returning
Scripture tells us that history is moving toward an appointed end. Jesus Christ is coming again. He will return in glory and establish His kingdom on the earth. These are not simply events Christians expect to happen someday. What God has revealed about the future should affect how the church lives and carries out its mission today.
Jesus made this connection when He spoke about the end of the age: “And this gospel of the kingdom shall be proclaimed in the whole world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come” (Matthew 24:14). His words remind us that there is still work to be done.
The gospel must be proclaimed, disciples must be made, pastors must be trained, and churches must be strengthened. What Scripture teaches about the end does not draw us away from this responsibility. It gives us greater reason to remain faithful. The expectation of the coming kingdom therefore impacts how believers live, labor, suffer, and proclaim the gospel today.
Why the Future Matters Now
These truths are especially important for pastors and missionaries who minister in the midst of opposition, uncertainty, and cultures increasingly hostile to biblical truth. Their circumstances may be difficult, but they are not outside the sovereign purposes of God. He is at work in all things to accomplish what He has promised.
That certainty should deepen our love for Christ, increase our longing for His appearing, and strengthen our concern for those who do not know Him. It also gives greater urgency to the task before us as the good news of Jesus Christ continues to go forth among the nations.
Revelation gives us a glimpse of where God’s redemptive plan is leading. John saw “a great multitude which no one could count, from every nation and all tribes and peoples and tongues” standing “before the throne and before the Lamb” (Revelation 7:9). This scene reminds us that the nations are part of what God is bringing to fulfillment.
Missions in Light of Christ’s Return
This connection between biblical eschatology and global missions will be the focus of the 2027 TMAI International Symposium, “Missions in Light of Christ’s Return.” Together, we will examine what the Bible teaches about the last days, Christ’s return and future earthly kingdom, and God’s purposes for Israel and the nations.
Our aim is not merely to understand events still to come, but to consider what they mean for ministry now. We will examine how the expectation of Christ’s appearing should shape our priorities and strengthen the proclamation of the gospel throughout the world.
Join us on March 9, 2027, in Santa Clarita as we consider these matters together and encourage one another to remain faithful to the work Christ has given His church.
